Seeing how the trunk release is used "often" (filling up gas, generally gaining access to the trunk to stow sh** away), what is everyone's take on their VS built release, specifically the quality and its longevity? You would expect that it works time and time again forever without fail (or the need for repair).

Let's just say, it fails and/or BRAKES, how do you gain access to the trunk (to fill up your gas tank) at that point? You're kind of SOL, yes?

I'm probably asking a dumb-ass question, but help me out as I'm dumb when it comes to technical details like this.

I just love the car and drive...god forbid something should go wrong and I'm left to fix it...not good for me.

I'll be posting up some pix of my newly purchased VS Speedster tonight when I get home. It arrived last Wednesday and it has been a dream come true for me.

Holler back, fellas.

I have a vs, second one. Mine is lowered 1 inch and I can still easily get to it from underneath . The last one I had for 5 years and 9000 miles and I had no problems. If you look at my pictures you can see the mechanism. All you do is pull it all (lever) to the drivers side and it pops up. My newly found mechanic and I are thinking of converting it to push button, with the original cable as backup
