I know I need to adjust the sag on my car but I still am going to need to figure out how to make the the door gaps look cleaner. I was trying to post a picture but I guess I never got membership status after I donated. Anyways how would you go about building out the door edges? It seems like if you dont do a good job it could chip off because it would be fragile. Am I in for a whole lot of sanding and fiberglass work?

It seems like I am going to have what others have called shadowing where the door on the bottom back sticks out a little bit. I saw that one guy fixed this by cutting his doors and adjusting them. Is there any information on how to do that?

Hi Mat,

I recently got my doors pretty decent simply by adjusting them so everything looked right. If I remember correctly, I ended up adding some spacers under the hinge plates to get everything to fit properly until everything looked right. Took about an evening per door. Before I did any door adjustments, though, I got the rear of the body lifted up to the correct and even gap at the rear of the door. do that first and everything else just falls into place.

When I got the outer surface flush all around and the door gaps even, I found that the inner door (near where the latches fit) hit on the door vertical jamb of the body, so THAT got sanded down until everything fit without hitting - some sanding on the body, some on the door. Of course, that will eventually require some paint inside of the door jamb and it's related body area and some bondo behind those areas to build them up where you can't see them, but that's life in the world of CMC Speedsters. Sorry that I don't have any pictures of the work, but if you wish you can email me and we can talk about it. I'll check on my last PC, too, from last Spring........I may have a picture or two related to that work and can share them.
