Michael, you are making the right decision waiting. I have seen your engine in person, and I have to tell you it looks really really nice. I think once you see it you will feel the same way, it looks great!!!!

So guys who bought that little green job and how is the "speed of light" coming. When you pull your facial muscles back into line perhaps you could (a) give us a little video tour of the (adjective unknown) and perhaps a little video ride in the ...both the little green monster and the big brother 300...gonna rip your face off speedy
Joes video was exemplary.
This from someone who really wants to follow in your footsteps. I have a few off list pictures, curtesy of SAW but I will not share them as these guys deserve to unvail their cars themselves.

Last word was that mine should be heading to the paint shed sometime this month. According to another Subi owner, it should only be a couple of weeks afterwards that it should be done. Starting to get antsy about insurance and registration. I'd like to fly up to Tennessee and am wondering if I can get a steering wheel lock bar and my GPS unit through the airport if they're in my check-in luggage.

Nolan; why don't you mail or UPS those things to SAW instead of trying to get them through the airport? That way you'll make sure they'll make it there before you do.
Good idea Rick, hadn't thought about doing it that way. I know airport security is on edge. I once got stopped when my carry on luggage was x-rayed and my alarm clock showed up (it was the windup kind with the two bells on top often seen taped to sticks of dynamite). After 20 years of working around jets in the Air Force my hearing is so bad that's the only kind of clock that could wake me.
I shiver at the thought of how far down the list I am, as my deposit was made in June 06...maybe by this time 07? I am at the stage now that every car I see gets an evaluation of how the color would look on the new Cab. I guess I have a looonnnng time to compare colors. Nolan, I am looking forward to getting home and seeing your car, and I am also interested in how Michael Guthrie's new rocket comes together. Maybe the site will be blessed with photos one day to help us "Low-Listers" get through the long winter.
Otherwise, I will stand back and wait my turn.

Scott, you will probably have a long wait as SAW is pretty backed up with orders. Do as I did, put your money in a liquid CD and have it build up for any accessories you'd like to add. I'm getting filled anticipation and aprehension as time goes on. Such things as insurance, registration, transportation to Tennessee, security of the car at night while staying in motels on the way home and those "gothcas" that seem to crop up when least expected.

When driving home from Carlisle, I just asked the Hotel Night Manager if I could park the car in the entry area....he looked at the car and said "no problem, I would love to look at it all night long!!!!"
