What is the typical turning radius on a Speedster? I know there are variables, rim width ect, but just a general foot radius would help.
I put a new box on and centered the tie rods and I am just able to make a uturn in a 2 lane street, that is from the left turning lane at a light into the opposite 2 lane street.Seems it should be tighter.

I feel your pain G B and I'll go you one better. I've got mild flairs and a front beam 5 inches wider than stock. I have the exact same issue as you do. Generally, I proceed about half way into the intersection before I even start to make a U-turn. That way I can use a little pavement from the cross street to avoid wacking the curb. Sort of a 190 degree turn with a 10 degree correction at the end. Makes me feel realy stupid to have a small car with the same turning radius as my 3/4 ton truck (124 inch wheelbase)!

In my case, the function is really flat cornering, which is what I signed up for. A small price to pay for the experience - but I still feel stupid making U-turns.
Ed, shortening the pan should make the car turn a tighter radius at full lock. But we usually can't do that as fenders get in the way. My Spyder has the turning radius of my work truck, a GMC HD pickup chassis with duallies and a bucket!

Two 8mm bolts and stop nuts on the beam right by the pitman arm, on ball joint front ends only, link pins don't have them I think.
Just for the record: With my widened beam, each front wheel is limited by a fabricated stop that puts the inside edge of the tire about 1/4 inch from hitting the trailing arm/sway bar. Ya can't do no better than that. Any factory mounts were ground off to maiximize the steering angle - what little there is!
