Before pulling the 1835 I noticed that the driver side of the engine was about 3/4" higher than the right side(measured at top of tin next to plugs.

What are the causes of this unbalanced alignment---hitting it too hard without proper trans support?

I'm guess since it was purchased sitting since 08 and I'm just getting into it with no prior knowledge (PO passed).

As I examine the rubber trans mount at bell housing it does look like the left side has been distorted inwards towards the rt mount--left to right torquing--maybe a few mm but is noticeable with a good eye.

There are no additional trans mounts--no kafer bar etc. just oem style black rubber mounts.

So--please jump in with where I should take this repair before dropping the engine back in.

Not going to run the crap out of it and bang it like I rented it--looking for a strong reliable cruiser.

Thanks, David

Looks like at sometime the driver's side of the frame cross member that bolts to the end of the horns took a strong hit. Maybe that also explains why the rear of the deep sump plate is bent over.

Could this impact be enough to bend up the driver side horn. The metal on the horns have very slight surface rust underneath that looks like its mostly from scraping. The upper half of the horns are excellent.
