Two Fun Events, shows

Central Coast Cobras is inviting every Porsche owner to joing us for a BBQ at lake San Antonio Saturday, March 27.

The Warbirds Air Museum, Paso Robles Air Port, is having their second annual Wings and Wheels Car show, Saturday May 8. Auto racing legend Parnelli Jones will be there also.

I would also like to invite everyone here to visit the Warbirds as a destination for your crusie in. We offer group rates and unlimited fun. We now have an Sprint car exibit with a couple of NASCAR cars there.

Vince you have posed a dilemma for MBJim's schedule and possibly others and LMS will probably have to order a new riding saddle.

This might be a great option for those that either don't drink or are not interested in doing the wineries on Saturday. I will provide a great route to get there. (not on the freeway) I know Howard and can work with him if there is enough interest.

I would like to see it myself, but don't want to miss the shenanigans that the wine tasting tour usually brings, with my other 3 amigo's (Jimbo, Gerd the hut and ole speedster D)and now with that other character Bill W (Hatman)or is it (Goofyfuk)I gave him those names because of the hat he wore on the P.S. cruise...

Warren, If you don't get the interest on Saturday, maybe late Friday afternoon (3:00-3:30), after the So.Cal. group arrives in Morro...

As of right now there are 16 people with cars that have not signed up for the Sat lunch (Wine Tour). I am not sure if they forgot to sign up or have other plans. In any case, this would just be another option. The problem is, I have spoken to Dusty about an alternate drive in the past and he has been pretty much against it. I certainly don't want to split the group up, but maybe we wait to see if there is any interest. If I read the schedule right, after lunch there is one more wine stop. Maybe for those who wish, could skip the 3rd winery and pull off and go to the airport. I'm just saying. What does everyone else think? Maybe we could have the Morro Bay photo op Sunday morning if it gets too late on Saturday? Just thinkin out loud and not trying to take over this thing. Dusty has done a hell of a lot of work on this and I don't want to ruin it. I guess it could be an idea for next year. Talk to me people.

I see there is some interest here in visiting our Warbirds Museum. We have a 5000sq ft building full of Sprint cars, photos, fun facts, and other interesting cars. We have two recently retired NASCAR cars.
If your group is interested in visiting our museum, please let me know so I can make arrangements. With a group this size, I'll need to have additional docents available for both the auto museum and the air museum. This is no problem, just want to be ready to give you our best.

Name just one 60s connoisseur of Carlo Rossi who doesn't appreciate fine wine, airplanes and fast cars. Morro/Paso has it all.

The last wine stop is Villacana Winery after lunch. The airport is just minutes away from this stop. The decision to include the Museum is a no brainer since we're nearly there already. It's just a matter of maybe doing the photo-op at Morro on Sunday morning, if it got too late. Or, for that matter, maybe I could ask Howard if we could do a photo-op inside the museum, near the planes. Jim and I could work out the schedule so for those that don't do the lunch tour but would like to go to the museum, could meet us there at some pre-determined time. Just thinkin' out loud. Dusty, weigh in here.

I'm game for whatever the group decides. Wine & planes sounds fun.

We are going to try this in 2011. Please see my post on Morro Bay - only 4 months away. If any of you locals are interested in joining the group to Lake San Antonio or the Warbirds in May, let me know and I will send you a flyer. Howard, thanks for thinking of us!

I just got off the phone with Howard Love and he is very open to arranging a photo-op or anything else we want at the Museum. Howard is on the Board of Directors for the WWII Air Museum, which includes a large space reserved for race cars. If you guys want to try to do something this summer, Howard can get deals at several motels in the Paso Robles area. We just need to give him some lead time. Again, if you want flyers for the two events Howard mentioned, let me know. If you just want to do our own thing, that's fine too.

Warren, you could try to put something together for Say June/July timeframe....I'm in, and I know some of the others will be roaring to go....

We would be up for this summer cruise!

What are you guys thinking?

1) Driving up Friday, doing the Museum in the a.m. and then driving home Sat?
2) Driving up Saturday and doing the Museum Sat afternoon?
3) Driving up Saturday and doing the Museum Sun morning?

If you drive up Saturday and do the museum late Saturday, it makes a long day for you, but it's your call. But then, you wouldn't have to burn a day. I remember that terminology from years ago when I worked. Ha Ha Ha

I'm still working, I don't know that phrase....
We come up on Friday morning, party that night, museum next morning.
Does that sound about right....
