Totally different. Type IV are self expanding as the engine grows due to heat. They can also be changed without removing the cylinder head.

but one word of advice from a T4 owner to another.

make sure everything is clean clean clean and dry.

i oiled the seals as i was putting them on the tubes. some folks put a little bit of RTV (copper) to help seal too.

i ended up doing this three times before i got them to stop leaking. it's not the cost, but with a sidewinder header/muffler - takes time.
The guy who helped with my car was the primary wrench on my engine.
He used the same treatment you use to lap valves on the seals for the pushrod tubes; make 'em as smooth as you can, then put a little RTV on them for good measure.
No drips, no leaks -- and no complaints from me.
