type 4 engine to type 1 trans info

I have a 2.0 type 4 that is going to be matted to my type 1 trans, the question is do you use the type 1 flywheel, clutch, pressure platre and srtarter? or the type 4 stuff, I don't think the starter from the type 4 will fit the type 4 flywheel right?

You use a Type IV flywheel, pressureplate, clutch. You also need to adapt to the different type of throwout bearing on the transmission. Jake should have the needed conversion kit. It's pretty simple.

Seems it depends on the original vehicle the TIV came from --- not all that clear but here's good site that covers in depth:

I'm pretty sure the starter will match up fine.

The 200mm TI, and 215 AND 215mm Type Iv all have the same ring gear teeth and diameter. The stock TI starter works just fine with a TIV with a 210 or 215 fly.

What transaxle do you have ? if it is post 1971 with a supported reklease bearing everything works sweet, if it is earlier than a 71 you'll need my retrofit assembly to make it work easily..

It all bolts up, easy as pie...
