Just sold off a few projects that I lost interest in (sort of took them as far as I ever would) and snitched a few bits and pieces off of 'em that I bought them for in the first place.
Anyway, I banked some coin and traded a swing axle trans and $50 for a really interesting single seat tube frame dragster/Funny Car chassis set up for VW power.
It has a '68-'70 Type II (bus) rear torsion housing and suspension clip welded in and came with everything needed including a nice three rib IRS Type II trans as well.
I want to replace the bushings at the trailing arms and torsion arms as well, but haven't been able to locate a source for urethane. I tried the Bus Boys and Bus Stop and a handful of off road houses and all of the forums between Bus and Off-Road, even tried the VW Drag Racing forums with no luck, but a lot of smart talk, so I'm turning to you folks. If I'm gonna get any grief, may as well keep it in-house.
Anyway, I can turn some trailing arm bushing from Delrin at a buddy's shop if I have to (he's got some on hand) even run with drilled aluminum inserts, but that still leaves the ones for the torsion arms. I'd really prefer to have all urethane if possible.
Anyone know a source/supplier/one-line store where I might turn?
