I have a Type IV engine originally from a 914. It looks like its been rebuilt many times(was a 1700cc but rebuilt to 2000CC). It had 5000 miles on it when it blew the last time. I aquired it from a friend who was using it in his VW bus. My question is: I want to locate a rebuild kit yet I want to make sure that I build a reliable leak free engine. Does anyone have some advice on the best route to go before I get started? Is building it as a 2000cc going to effect it's reliablity? I would like some hp also.
