has anyone ever seen a shroud like this? I asked the guy that is selling his rail and he said that it is a custom design shroud. the porsche crest are stickers. Do you think that this would only work on a mid-engine car? this is the ebay link # 150123039543

It looks like a modified Type 3 or Type 2 front fan assembly. It's tough to tell but it looks like the fan is attached to the crank pulley. This was common on VW Type 2 (late air cooled bus engines) and Type 3 engines. 914 engines fall into the type 2 catagory but are commonly called Type IV.

I doubt you'd have enough room at the back of your engine to accomodate the fan assembly..

I believe I would want to know head temperatures before installing this shroud.

It doesn't appear to be much shorter than the OEM cooling tin with fan. I'd think either would work in mid-engine with some intake and exhaust air ducting.

it looks very 914 teeny to me. thats a mid engine car.
