Hi guys,
Before I send my speedo in for repair and calibration, I need to
address the issue of tyre size.

At present my speedster's tyre profile is 195/65 which (to me) looks
a little too fat and low. I'm thinking of changing to 185/70's
What's the recommended size and profile for a classic speedster look?
Also, what's the recommended tyre pressure for a 720 Kg vehicle?

Any suggestions welcome,
Thanks, Mitch

Most people run 22 to 23 psi front and 27 to 28 psi rear; for high performance I would go to 26 psi front and 32 psi rear on an IRS car. I had 195/65's on my "D" and agree that they look a little fat, but they grip very well. We're going to put 185/65's on my new car. I think 175/70's would look closer to the 356A original tires (165's)but their performance might leave something to be desired.
George,

Unless Micelin has changed their tire compound I have found that Michelins wear forever but are not good on wet and slick surfaces.
I had a set of MXsomethings a few years ago and got tired of trying to wear them out so pulled them off a Volvo for some Dunlops that were a lot better on wet surfaces and also had more grip in the dry. Hopefully your's are a later compound. Bruce
