"1950 (TITLED 1951) PORSCHE GLAZIER 356 CABRIOLET CONVERTIBLE

This car is unique and one of the most rare in the world. In 1950 the Porsche Company built a new factory. They farmed out the production of some of their cars. There were 26 manufactured at the Glazier factory that year. This car is one of four that we know of left in the world. Serial # 5161. Only one has been restored. It lives in Indiana for now. The other two are in Europe and in about the same condition as mine. The last I heard, one of them was on the market for 150,000 Euros which, as you probably know, is over $200,000.

My husband and I purchased the car thirty years ago. It has resided in our garage all of these years. Sadly, my husband passed away a year ago on the 4th of July. Now it is time for this car to become someone else's dream and in the process help my two granddaughters attend college.

We do have the original rear bumper and gas tank. We also have all of the parts of the convertible top assembly. The engine is not original. The engines installed in these cars were so poor that almost all of them were replaced with VW engines within a year or two. The front seats are original. The interior, of course, is not in real good shape but I would expect it to be so without restoration or upkeep 59 years after manufacture. I have all of the provenance for this car. It was the subject of an article in Panorama magazine at one time and I have that Panorama. I also have the original of that article that appeared in the Northern Ohio Porsche Club monthly magazine from which it was directly copied to Panorama. I also have what I believe to be the original keys.

I hope someone will make this car their dream as it was my husband's and mine. More pictures are available upon request and I will answer any questions I can for you."
