My Beck is installed under the hood and has pretty good reception.

One of the many things I was impressed with on Joe Fortino's Beck when I saw it at the Peoria cruise in June was the mounting of his antenna in the boot. Really done well and reflected the quality that is inherent through out his car. I don't have a radio in my VS, but if I decide to put one in I will mimic Joe's setup. Clean, out of the way and doesn't add anything to the exterior look of the car.
Joe---All I can get is FM---no AM at all. Does your radio receive AM?
I do get decent AM reception, but only tried it in the Chicago area. When I took the drive to Peoria I used an app on my iPhone plugged into the head unit.
in 2010 I had Henry at Intermeccanica install a hidden antenna under the dash. Damn thing crapped out last week.
One more thing to look after this winter.
Is there some reason that you guys are not using your windshield top frame as an antenna? All you need do is connect the center lead of your antenna coax cable to the windshield center strut (under the dash - use a ring tab) and ground the coax shield. The windshield is relatively close to the optimum 30" length you need for an FM antenna. AM, on the other hand, is now taken over by right/left wing talk shows and not worth listening to, but the windshield frame might be OK for that band, too, on a small scale.
BTW: I've heard that VS uses the windshield frame as an antenna, too.
I wish I had read all of these antenna messages before I drilled the hole in my fender years ago.
I've something similar to that mounted underneath my dash.
Wait. There's left wing talk radio??

Not that I know of, they wouldn't have enough intelligent listeners....
i use an ipod nano radio. speaker out wire is the radio antenna.
small, and no holes to cut
That is cool, Mango. What head unit do you attach to?
For those without a nano, I use Tune In Radio http://itunes.apple.com/us/app...8987775?mt=8 on my iphone and plug into head unit. It is a great driving companion.
A nano or iPhone + this Kicker system would make a cool stealth audio system...

That would be NPR Ed.
Joe, thanks for the Tunein app. It's great. The new nano slipped past my radar. Now I want one as a watch!
I even upgraded to the pro so I can get Blackhawk games when I am traveling.
