First day of the National Gathering began with Jim (MUSBJIM) washing his car and the girls setting in the shade reading. (tough life, eh?). Then we had a great drive up into the local mountains to about 7500 ft elevation and around two lakes. Now we are off to dinner and back to the Pleasant Valley Ranch (Dusty & Sharon's place) for drinks, snacks and a campfire. Not many pics taken but here are a few.

Happy Trails,
Dusty

Here are a couple more pics from the Nationals. This evening we had a terrific Mexican dinner in town and came back to my ranch for a campfire and beer. Everyone had a story to tell and Jim relayed stories from his past (some were even TRUE !!). I wish you all had been here. This is just too much fun. What great people !

Dusty

Well, everyone is missing out here in Colorado. We are having a great time, the scenery is beautiful, and what a great group of people. We took a nice drive today, the lovely LMS has been driving me around in her 911 and Darrin has been Dusty's right seater, its been really great. We are looking forward to tomorrow, we are going up into the mountains, should be lots of fun. OH, I almost forgot went today to the place that restores the Bugatti's, all I can say is AWESOME!!!! Those cars ROCK, the one I like was only about 3 millions bucks!!!

Thanks Vince, its nice to know that I look good driving my car, I love it just as much as the day I brought her home! We sure miss not having you and Teri here, its been nice and relaxing. Take care, we still want to have lunch with you at Tony's on the Pier, maybe when we get back.
OK, OK, so I've been really busy. Sorry! I just posted a bunch of pictures on my picture page. Take a look there and I will post some more tomorrow.

We had a really great time. Weather was excellent all the time and it was warm every day. The folks that came were the best bunch I have been with in a long time. We drove, drank, ate, kibitzed, had campfires and told stories (some were even true!). Everyone has left for home and I have to catch up on things here at the old "Pleasant Valley Center for Obnoxious Western Art".

Stay tuned for more pictures.

Happy Trails,
Dusty and the Lovely Miss Sharon
we are home, unfortunatley! we have yet to get our pictures downloaded, we came home to alot of work etc, we do that in the next few days. I believe Jim & Ginny will be home late tonight or tomorrow. Cal and Carol are still on the road touring around and will be back to Loveland on Thursday and then home after that.

To Dusty & LMS,
We just want to thank you again for hosting such a great event, thank you for carting Darrin and I around so that we didn't have to drive the "Yaris" amongst the beautiful "tubs" (for those that were not there, I didn't have my car, so LMS was gracious enough to drive me around in her 911 while Darrin was Dusty's right seater in the tub). We enjoyed everything that we did, the Bugatti place, the "zoo", the beautiful drives along the country side and lakes, and lets not forget all of the FOOD! oh and the over 380 cars at the Tebo place (that was awesome), oh and the tour of your home, your cars, and your AWESOME saddle shop, the work you do is amazing. Thank you Thank you, you are truly generous, gracious folks. We look forward to Morro Bay!!!!

For all that couldn't attend the National Gathering, come next year if you can, its a great time and Colorado is beautiful!
PEOPLE OF EARTH!!!

We just got home from a GREAT trip to Colorado. I'm not a techie so I don't have a laptop to tote around with me to keep in touch via the internet (I'm kinda old-school that way). I have posted a link to a photo page with some pics of our adventure at the National SOC Rallye. Hopefully this will be the primer for an event that will grow each year.

Many thanks to Dusty for coordinating the event and to the always lovely Miss Sharon for being such a gracious host. As always, Dusty thought of EVERY detail to make the event and everyone's visit enjoyable and fun.

What an AWESOME cruise through the Rockies. Our little VS purred even in the high altitudes without skipping a beat. The Bugatti tour was mind-boggling, the Tebo collection was very entertaining and the company of our SOC friends totally made the trip a memorable one.

I'll post more pics and commentary as I catch up at home and the office.

Peace - Out!

A big THANK YOU to Jim & Ginny, Cal & Carol, and Jennifer and Darrin for the terrific rememberance you sent to Sharon and me. I can't tell you how great it makes us feel that you show your appreciation in such a nice way. It was more than a reward having you, and everyone else who joined us on the drive, here. Thank you, you are the best.

Dusty and the smiling Lovely Miss Sharon
Glad that everyone had such a great time at Dusty's first National "Dust-In"!

The pictures are terrific, especially Jim's sunset shot in the Arches National Park - truly outstanding!

We all need to do more of these gatherings, both Naionally as well as regionally so we can all share each others company and hang out together with our cars.

Let's see....how mny days to Morro Bay and Carlisle??
