Hello from the UK again. Wondering if any of you clever guys out ther can help me with this one. I run a VW floor pan chesil speedster with a Puma front adjustable beam with a standard front disc brake conversion. has anybody any advice on how i can uprate the front disc's to give me more stopping power ?. I run on 15" wheels. Is it possible to increase either the size of disc or caliper or can i use a different set up. Somebody told me once that you could use a VW type 4 set up on the front. Also if i can uprate will i have to use a different brake master cylinder?. All and any advice greatly recieved.

Thanks

Tim

In the UK try Red 9 Design. I was talking with Simon there when I bought my adjustable A arm front end and he showed me pictures of how they adapted Porsche front rotors to VW spindles. Its apparently not that difficult as usually they machine a couple of collars to adapt the Porsche bearings to the VW spindle.

In Canada there's this place...

I talked to both Red 9 and vdubengineering but in the end went with BAD rotors from Airkewld and Wilwood calipers which I just recently rec'd.

Its been debated here before ... do we really need that much more stopping power in these little cars? My upgrade is really just for show. The BAD rotors look really sharp, better than the pics on the site. The rotors are anodized black with the hubs satin aluminum. They'll look sharp (IMO) on my black car with the zinc plated A arm assembly behind them and my refinished Fuchs up front. I had the Fuchs powder coated satin black with the exception of the outer rim which has been polished.
