Hi,

I was driving the speedster home last night, been on the dual carriage way for about 15 minutes averaging about 65mph. Came to the round about at the end and lifted off, significant backfiring from the engine. Coasted round the round about and applied the throttle, engine was popping banging and kangarooing down the road. Pulled over, engine still running but didn't appear to be on all cylinders. Stopped the engine and tried to restart. The engine would turn but would not start.

Got recovered to home, supposed to be taking the car to appear in a music video tomorrow.... Looking for any suggestions.

Thanks

One of my customers had a similar problem. After a lot of diagnosis, it turned out to be a loose point eliminator module. I removed the module from the base of the distributor, sanded the bottom of the module and the base of the distributor with emery cloth, applied a drop of "loctite" to the screw and reattached the module. The problem went away...
