The exchange rate puts the USA SOC members at a serious advantage buying Canadian Goods ! Nearly 30% discount while we pay 30% more for USA products. I just bought a USA product Yikes..

At a 30% discount I STILL can't afford one of Henry's cars. Sigh...
Aren't IMs quoted in U.S. dollars? Where does that 30% difference happen?
They probably are Jack. I was attempting to be humorous with usual level of success.
30% plus what the credit card charge for doing the exchange. It's probably closer to 35%.
Lane, I got the humour...
I think Henry prices in both currencies, but it probably is still a good bargain for his U.S. customers.

35% is not even close...look again.
I talked to Henry a few weeks ago and he prices his cars in US dollars.

But in reality....where the numbers really means something, if I want to buy one American dollar today, I have to fork over $1.47 Canadian.
And Henry has to do the same for all the parts he buys, and all the work he gets done in the U.S. It ain't easy living up here these days.
I'm glad I got my car built last year.
The first time around with my IM (2000 to 2003) the dollar difference was around where it is today and I cursed the Canadian dollar every time I bought a VW part from the US.
The second time around the dollar difference was only a couple of cents. Since I saved so much on each purchased I decided I should buy more....a lot more.
Henry recently ordered a new set of Weber carbs for my IM. Time to start cursing that damn Canadian dollar again.
