Used engine

1600cc VW engine. Has deep sump, filter pump, lightened flywheel, Dansk Performance heater boxes (with 2-bolt flange), EMPI valve covers, Berg oil breather, Scat 1.5 ratio rockers, 009, Blue coil, S&S header with hideaway muffler, Single 40ida Weber, new Bosch regulator, Scat engine tin, 36 hp fan shroud is used (some dents, the good one is on my spyder), clutch only has 5000km on it.
Pulled engine out of my 67 convertible before I sold it, engine has a slight knock but runs strong. (Knock may be due to hi-lift rocker hiting #2 valve guide..thats what I have been told?) Spent 3200Cdn in parts. Just need to clean out my garage. Located in Mississauga Ontario. $1500.00Cdn or best offer.

Put the engine on the dyno today to see why it is knocking. It is the ration rockers contacting (an easy fix). Engine ran great with the dual Dellorto (not Weber). Did not leak any oil? Still have not figured that one out yet. Left it sitting on the dyno, so Monday we will see were the drips are from. Still for sale for $1500.00Cdn. ($3200.00 spent)

Hey Heiko. I did reply the other day but I was in the wrong thread so Theron deleted my reply. In answer to your question, I am in Cambridge. I am interested in the engine, as I have a bare block in my 718, and I don't even know what it is. This deal is all new to me so I can use all the advice I can get. It will likely be a couple of weeks before I bring the car home from our shop as I am finishing a project in the garage any time now.E-mail me at donald4443@rogers.com and we can figure out where to go from here. I will likely take a couple of years to finish this porsche as the learning curve tends to slow me down.

I finally got my spyder home so I can start thinking about where to start. I will send you some photos as soon as I figure out how to attach them to an E-mail. I should get your input on where to start since you've been doing this for awhile. The car is pretty bare. I don't even know who manufactured this car so any input would be greatly appreciated.
