The problem here in Thailand is getting decent wheels to fit a 4 bolt Beetle never mind 5 x 130. I could just go with my weenie 4" Beetle wheels but would like a little larger tyre

I have discovered that current model Mercedes 15 x 6" wheels have the same centre section as 4 bolt VW. There are shops here with large gap lathes that will cut the centre out of the VW wheels and weld into the new non-rusty Merc wheels.

One can position the VW centre to gain the desired offset to fit the tyre combo and once chromed with a set of nipple caps should look great.

One could always section the VW wheel to gain width, but stuck with the same offset. I think this will be a stronger approach using the new Merc wheel and am going to give it a go as the Merc wheels cost 12.00 USD ea as takeoffs
