I asked before if it might be OK to list my little truck for sale here, and everyone seems to be OK with it. Please, if it's too far "off topic" just deleat it OK? I won't mind a bit. So, here goes:

It's time to sell my V8 Beetle with the BGW Spectre panel truck fiberglass clip. Here are some pictures and info:

Just about the most brutal, nosiest, and most uncomfortable car that you've ever been in! Loud, fast and stinky! Black primer, all metal interior except for two terrible seats, stupid aluminum dash board, tilt GM column, tilt fiberglass nose, fiberglass BGW sedan delivery body clip, 2 inch widened fiberglass rear fenders, SBC with cam, head work, Weiand manifold, 4bbl carb, "rams horn" factory Corvette exhaust, aluminum radiator w/ Spal fan, built 350 trans with converter and shift kit, B&M ratchet shifter, 10 bolt Detroit locker, ladder bars, boxed/narrowed/shortened frame with Camaro front discs, 295 rears/165 fronts on Centerline front runners, looks and runs like an Anglia/Thames Gasser.

Registered, insured, inspected/stickered, and driven daily. Driving it is like rolling down a hill in a 55 gallon drum full of bowling balls. You ALWAYS arrive bruised and dirty . . .

Just $3,000 ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

The coolest part of my truck is that it was built as a chassis first, then the body was bolted down. All of the electrics are chassis wired. You can remove the body and drive it just as easily as with the body on it. Everything, including steering and such is hung on internal hoops, bulkheads, and brackets, not on the body itself.

I haven't a neighbor left with whom I'm on speaking terms. This ride frightens children, makes grown men cringe with envy, causes women to swoon and dogs to bark!

SOMEONE's gotta be as crazy as me! Just $3,000 ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Buy this thing, will ya??!?!?!

An honest to goodness drag strip survivor, with a legal title, and built GM Tough. I mean, if the Bomb drops tonight, I'm just gonna squeeze my fat ass under this truck and come on out the next morning.

Only $3,000 ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Hate to sell it, but it's the only thing that I own that worth anything and with the new Ghia, I need the $ ! ! Thanks for listening,

TC
Is the console mounted cup-holder a homey touch or a homeboy touch. Either way.....I love it. I'll trade you a Vintage Speedster with no reverse..... still (I'm getting ready to put on the dress) for your VW panel truck and $10K. Come on TC...show everybody how crazy you are.
You guys are killing me! I'm offering up a slice of VW history for the cost of a built VW mill. An original, battle scarred V8 Beetle from the Gasser Wars of the seventies!

I thought that you guys had some imagination . . . everyone's always talking about that "356 Outlaw Coupe" that you'd always build, You know, rough original body with a built up VW engine, blah, blah, blah. Well here's your chance to be the "Most Wanted". The crowd at the Parts Obsolete get together will bow down to you when you pull up with what I'm suggesting.

This Beetle panel will run and drive perfectly with the body unbolted. The chassis was built and wired separately and the body shell lowered over it and bolted down using the original VW body bolt locations.

Strip the body off, shorten the rear chassis legs and drive shaft the correct amount. Pick up a an original old coupe body with a rotted out pan. Lower it onto the V8 chassis, glass on some wide body fender flares, trim the inside like a WWII bomber, stencil on some meatballs and numbers and go out at night hunting Vipers!

Come on here! Your wife keeps your B&LLS in that little box on the dresser. Go get 'em, strap 'em back on and buy this monster! ! Be the man that she married . . .
"Have you tried selling it locally? "

No, not at all. I just figured that I'd give my Buddies first shot, just in case. I really didn't even expect as much response as there has been.

I'll probably drive on down to the big Terryville, CT VW show, offer it up for sale and probably charge $3 bucks a ride, $10 bucks to drive it. If nothing happens I'll put it up on Ebay and just deal with the idiots.

Who knows? It's been my daily driver for a couple of years now, but I want to concentrate on/finish up something more "civilized" next, that and I'm just tired of the attention that it draws . . .
