what frezerk said is true about the reading, infact I think I may of been in one of the test groups when I was a kid, but it was a reading thing. But I did not know that and also picked up the speling with it,( illuded to in a earlyer post) witch is why my spellen sucks for some. Im not stupid & it's not that I dont care. it is what it is. and it driove my teachers in high schgool nuts.

I dont know if I was in cali or at langly(VA) when it was done, probably langly, where all kinds of stuff go's on........then.... and now. Untill I was about 12  I didnt see my dad more than a hand full of times, spooky stuff go's on there.

not sure I followed all of that about cams and big block V8s, but I am a mechanical engineer and I understand ratios, lifts, etc.  I was not sure how many bearings on the VW cam, but do recall that they do double duty.  Very clever design, actually.  As to my motor, I should know what the rocker ratios are, but I do not recall right off.  Probably not extreme, and likely 1.0.  It is a 2332, and the valve adjustment method  I use (basic TDC approach) seems to work OK.

And the business about how bad you can screw up spelling and still read it is evidenced in the 1st paragraph of my earlier reply, which I am sure you must have noticed.

I did three years of middle school in Va Beach (not too far from Langley) and seem to have survived it well enough.  Took me about 10 years to stop sayin' y'all once I moved back north . . .

I would think a 2332 would have atleast 1.25,I ran 1.34 on mine. you do know the raito is not constant. and you can alter the ratio curve (angle of attack can speed up the raito or incerase or decrease it)and the type of rocker weather it be an oe type or a "wiper" flat(curved ) foot rocker changes raith as the lift incerases on the lobe, but not all are created equel some change a lot some a little, and varring the rocker hight changes it too.

what I was trying to say about the v8 cams& the vw cams, well, hmm, i  the cam is mesured the same usualy @.050  lift figure to get the duration. but the real time at the valve duration, is way diferent between the two, due to the rocker raitos., on a 1.1 vw rocker the valve may open at 19 degrees before tdc, and the same cam lobe on a v8 could be 44 degrees due to the rocker ratio, and thats a lot more running duration, but the same lobe.lift is importaint but duration has more affects on the output&powerband.

kinda like a house door opened 2 feet for 3 sec, and 6 flies get in, now open the door 2.5 feet for5 sec and 12 flies come in. it's time to get an electronic flyswatter.

Can you read this?
