My valve covers are leaking on my brand new Speedster w/Subaru, 65 mi.
It looks strieght forward, remove the breather hose on top of both covers, spark plug wires(do the plugs need to come out?), and the 6 bolts. All bolts were tight. Any un-forseen problems?

Plugs don't need to come out. I recommend using OEM Subaru gaskets.
Mine's leaking too. I might swap them side to side, as only one side drips, and it used to be on the passenger side. After the head gasket job I think I put them on opposite sides, and so the leaky one now drips on the cat. That's bad, stink-wise.
Yeah. Torqued to spec--which is given in ln/lbs. New gaskets, everything clean. Apparently these leak just like VW ones leak.

Oh my... the next thing you're going to say is that their carbs need adjusting and fiddling with. 
My 2.2 Subie never leaked in 3 seasons of spirited driving. Maybe just lucky or I had the right gaskets.
Full two year Suby .... 2.5L ..... the only oil leak I've had is when my local mechanic wannabe ( that would be Me) ... failed to properly tighten the drain plug with the proper gasket
The engine had a leaky valve cover when I pulled it. I bought FelPro blue gaskets. They sure look OK. Maybe I'll try the goop and if that doesn't get it, goop + Genuine Subaru gaskets.
I'm not saying that aftermarket stuff cannot be as good. I'm apt enough at making mistakes myself to the extent that when genuine OEM parts are readily available, I'll use them first, thus gaining some slight measure of self serving comfort while avoiding my Mother's old axiom....David, you have no one to blame but yourself....( thanks again Mom ) :-)
