There shouldn't be really any voltage on it. The fuel sender merely measures a level of resistance, usually to ground. One wire goes to the gauge input, the other is grounded usually off one of the sender attach screws, and run directly to the gauge ground. That's how I do it. I can't remember if the resistance is zero at full, but I think so. And about 60-80 ohms empty.

As an aside, voltage going into a flammable liquid is usually not recommended!

Hello DANNYP, thank you for the feedback. Apologies for my reply; been out of the state working with my wife taking care of her deceased parents property. The VS gauge cluster has one red wire going to the sending unit, a black going to a screw on the sending unit- like you mentioned and another red I need to following as it branches off other terminals to the tech and speed gauge cluster.
