"padded roll bar" - looks like duct tape

I would say thats because the wheels are turned towards the camera only. Straight and I feel they would be centered.
Nice car.
...look closer and you'll see that the duct-tape is covering/protecting foam...

INDEED DUCT TAPE IT IS....maybe padded duct tape(LOL)?
I do like the brake light on the roll bar. That padding is more functional than beautiful, and that's what matters when you are on the track.
160 horses from 1620cc's. Stout and surly.
my old 356 roadster e production had fiberglass fenders and deck lid, coil overs all way around, i took stock frame and modified it to a tube frame, all legal in scca. bill

I would wager that it's life is measured in racing sessions (not seasons). Powerband is probably 4,000-7500 rpm and not much fun at all below 3,000. Being a whole 1620cc's- not exactly a great street engine. I'm sure it sings once you get it "on the cam" though!
I'd bet a Grand Slam Breakfast that that thing doesn't approach 160 hp, no matter how high it revs.
my race car engine we got 160 hp on the dino, the power band was 5000 to i would run it to 7600. bill
