It's not mine, but it's a very nice "Vapor Grey" super widebody.

The Ebay police knocked me off from the "356" listing & forced me into the "Replica" heading. Here's the new site:

Relative to the beehives, it's a "57 WB not a '54 classic!
"Rusting fiberglass?" What're you smoking?

Bob,
No sweat! I'm just trying to blow off some steam & drum up some good bidders instead of the cheap "tire-kickers" I've been getting. The impression I have based on the bidding and the email is everyone thinks 1.) a replica is just a VW frame with a plastic body or 2.) because of the economy I am in a "must sell situation." You & I know differently. There's as much hand work and personal input in these cars as an original and for most owners, Speedsters are a second, thired or plus vehicle besides their "daily drivers." It's a nice Speedster and I don't want to dilute prices for other sellers!
Since 'Nam, huh? we must be close to the same age! Hana gold, no mo, brah!

We've been delegated to the replicas. Then again, that is what we are.....

Ron,
For all intents and purposes, it is a 356, maybe even better! When I originally listed, it never occurred to me that there was even a "Replica" category, so, put it in "356". I don't mind being in "Replica" territory because this thing drives better than the Original '56 that I owned when I was in college! I just want a "level playing field" for my auction. Yet, Ebay still allows other replicas under the "Porsche" banner.

Bruce, I was on ebay this morning, did a search for "Porsche 356" and your car was listed along with Original Speedsters.

Simon,
Double check the "search header" right above my title description. It says,"Back to Search Results | Listed in category: eBay Motors > Cars & Trucks > Replica/Kit Makes."
It may well have been there but only momentarily. Although I don't know why that would've happened. Ebay has "policed" me pretty well for being listed in "356," previously.
Thanks!
P.S.: Ebay should really get rid of the replica/kit category. Most people wouldn't think to look there unless they were previous replica owners. I think a lot of people would go looking for an original under "356" that they could afford. Then realize they can't but are plesantly surprised to see a replica that they might just consider that price wise would get them in the ball park. I also think that it doesn't matter what vehicle thay are looking for, they will automatically look under that vehicle's heading versus replica/kit! But then that's why I don't own Ebay!

when you search "Porsche 356" it will pull from all categories. You only hit the specific real or replica if you come in through eBay's category list.
Chuck is correct. Always search all of eBay. Search for speedster or porsche 356 and you will find them all.
I always search under speedster, even though I get motorcycles, boats and other cars that are also called speedster. Then I display 200 entries on a page and sort by the highest price first. That will give you every speedster on eBay on one page.

Thanks to all you guys for your hellp & assistance. I really appreciate it. I'll admit I ain't that great on Ebay. Hey, I like this one! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-356-POLIZEI-PORSCHE-356-BT5-Cabriolet-POLIZEI . Just what I need to buzz around the island! I can toss everyone out of the water at my local surf spots!!
An observation: I really have some doubts about what people are saying re: the economy coming back. I have created a list of 13 active and 50 deactivated Rep's and it just seems that people are just stopping ther bids at a cretain level, even for the really nicer cars! I'm also seeing a majority of "reserves not met." Maybe I'm naive but that just confirms my belief that Speedster owners in general, are comfortable enough that they are rarely in a "must sell position" and are willing to hold on to their cars rather than loosing several $K.

Bruce you hit he nail on the head here... everyone states that the economy is getting better, but most folks even if they are working feel that their job is not that secure, so the extras that most folks would be buying just anit happening right now...
