I will not make any excuses. I owe this site and my builder a very, very heartfelt public apology. I saw a post from Troy this morning and as I said on that post I was hoping he would chime in. I had the same thought about my paint that I have publicy said is crap. I thought maybe it was left over wax or other material. I started when I got the car to rub the door edges and other areas with a wet cloth but got worried that it wasnt coming off and that it was in fact the paint.
After reading Troys comments, I went out at the ripe old time of 6:45am and started really digging into the areas of issue. Come to find out that what looks like missing paint is not missing paint. It was left over material from the polishing. I am extremely embarrased and very sorry to the SOC community and my builder for this. I am not used to having a new car with left over polish, etc that I needed to take off. I still have a lot of work to do to get the stuff off, but I think overall I have found my problem and thank Troy for the insight. That is why if you see a car come up from Troy - you can bet that it is well sorted.
I will not apologize for the fact that there is nothing I can do about the paint drips. They are hideous and I am still very unhappy with that piece. BUT - I am 99% more happy this morning than I was yesterday about it.
I have been humbled and embarrased this morning, but now I move on to sorting out the rest of my ride.
An update on that - Master Cylinder in place, brakes adjusted...4 disc brakes all around with this master cylider give me great stopping power. I am very happy about that...
Thanks everyone for putting up with my issues and for your suggestions. The paint is not perfect but thanks to Troy, I am a much happier man.
