Hey Y'all,

This is Vicki's mate Dave. Her throttle cable has been coming loose from the gas pedal today due to the cable falling out of the cable hold-down bracket (see pictures).

The throttle cable falls out of the grooved notch after the body shop took up the carpet by the pedals. I guess the shop couldn't find the brake switch and thought the switch was mounted on the brake pedal.

Question- does the carpet alone hold down this bracket? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Dave,
If I remember correctly, the end of the cable loosly resembles the letter "S" If so, loosen the cable from the carb's, and re-install the throttle end so it captures a couple of the bends in the cable. They only have the throttle cable partially inserted into the pedal.
Dave,

Don't know if this helps, but here are two photos of my throttle cable setup on my Beck...One focuses on the view looking at the front of the pedal and the other is focused on a mirror to show the rear. So you will know, there is a little play in the cable at the "S" Larry described, but not enough to release the "S" from the pedal bracket.

Godd luck.
