Oops it's blocked ~
Jim, I think you need a generic soundtrack, do you have something your band has recorded?
WMG? What did you use from Warner Music?
Warner Music Group? Someone actually took the time to listen to this video then block it?
@MusbJim Hey I'm learning how to play keyboards. Maybe you can use me exclusively to provide the future soundtracks to SOC video productions. I can also add tasteful sax licks to it as well! I can already do a bad ass interpretation of Mary Had A Little Lamb.
Well, you know it's illegal!
I think the most recent statistic was that users upload up to 35 hours of new video to YouTube every minute. To protect themselves from being sued for profiting from music companies intellectual property, the good folks at Google introduced "ContentID". This service consists of audio and video matching tools that match each and every video uploaded to the site against video and audio content provided by content owners (i.e. networks, record labels, film studios, etc.).
Nobody watches the video. It's the power of big data.
So if you slow down or speed up the track say by 5% would that get the music past the bots?
Wow! You Tube blocked my video because I used snippets of the songs I bought on my iTunes library.
I deleted the video and will re-edit to re-post. Sorry for the red tape snafu!
Longer than 15 (or is it 10?) Seconds is a violation because of YouTubes ad revenue. Silly lawyers ruin everything.

Im sure there are ways around it. I've never investigated it. There are tons of cool free music tracks availabe. I just think its horse poop that lawyers ruin stuff like this.
The same thing happened to Jim's 2014 Westcoast video, but I was able to download a copy before it was blocked. While we're waiting for Jim's legal 2017 video, here's a link to his original 2014 video.

Great idea! Post a video clip of you playing either instrument and I will add those to my song library.
@MusbJim can't you just post the video here and not first on YouTube?

Thanks Troy! I'm downloading now. Does anyone else want to do the work of linking us to 2015 and 2016?
I think they can be seen on you tube ,search soc or musbjim

Unfortunately we did not record the day we played with Rusty on drums Jim, but I do have other tracks we recorded at different times...just dont know if our SOC friends would appreciate our wailing we pass of as harmonies!!!! LOL!

Since the word is out that we have a band I thought I would share a photo of our group "Flashback" when we jammed up in Big Bear...El Guapo #1 on Bass in the White T-Shirt and me "Dutch" on Dobro front and center!
Video update: I deleted the original video, didn't want to deal with You Tube's copyright claim. I scoured the internet for royalty-free sound tracks...they ALL SUCK. I guess that's why they're free.
Deleting the music I used completely changes the look, sound & mood of the video. It takes hours of searching & editing (music sources) to accomplish the right flow and theme. Adding 'royalty free' tunes would be like watching 'Top Gun' with elevator music soundtrack.
Alas, I am utilizing another method of delivery for viewing my original video on this site. It will take a couple of days, but the wait will be worth it.
Sadly the upload limit isn't changeable.
http://www.dailymotion.com is a youtube alternative that may not screen your videos for CP
@MusbJim, according to this article, Vimeo doesn't copyright scan private videos. Essentially you could publish it in ultra HD 4k whatever to Vimeo and publish it as "private" and share the code with us here. Then we can all enjoy it and share it with our families as you intended.
I've had this happen before. It's heartbreaking to time everything down to the second only to have the audio swiped out from under you. Take your time. Try Vimeo with it in its current condition.

Nice shot of us all entering the winery Jim. That was a very nice place to hang out do our wine tasting!
Thanks all, I'm aware of Vimeo and DailyMotion, and in fact have placed several of my videos on Vimeo (mostly family and grandkid stuff).
Aside from the Copyright issue is the size of my video, which is fairly substantial at 3GB. Vimeo restricts weekly uploads to 500MB/week and DailyMotion is similar. I could load on Vimeo without too much Copy Right angst but I'd have to pay an annual fee for the additional storage space. Don't really want to do that, for something I really only use a couple times a year.
I will post the 2017 SLO video (in all it's glory) later this week. By that time you will all be seriously jonesing for an SLO video fix!
What if you remove the music then just insert the song title where the music is supposed to be. We can watch the video in silence then insert the music on our own from memory. I don't care for ear plugs so I listen to most of my music from memory anyway. I even EQ it to sound the way I like. Sometimes the eq gets stuck. I will move the mids too far up or bass too far up and in my head I cannot get it corrected. It's not like I can update my firmware to correct the problem either. Sometimes the off button is basically grayed out and the music plays for days or the same song plays continually. Sometimes it's way too loud and I can't turn it down so I pretend that I'm hard of hearing when talking to others. It's not perfect by any means and it may be just a lack of focus on my part.
Rusty, Time for EST. No, not some 70's meditation scheme but Electrical Shock Therapy. I've suggested it to several ex-wives. Though you may want to try a lower voltage.
Rusty. Maybe you should just focus on car fire extinguishing advice.

Okay Rusty, it's time for your meds.

For you Rusty, I could draw stick figures of some people and cars, caption them with the song titles and you could imagine how the SLO cruise turned out. You could enhance the experience by drawing from your memory your keyboard & sax rifts.
I'm just trying to provide a little entertainment while waiting on this 3GB video project. This should be the video to beat all videos.
Must be an "Outlaw" thing!
