OK so here is how things are going to be...
you arrive at 4:00 and get to mingle till 5:00 at which time the food arrives and you get to eat, I have an illusionist coming at 5:30 so you will need to be done and ready to enjoy his tricks...
Desi will start the music precisely at 5:45 and everyone will comence the dancing.....Oh, and most importantly, if you did not RSVP, you will not be allowed in...No Party for you..
OK who do I sound like?

I'm such an A-hole...
Lane got it right, Zappa has some choice lines that make me think of Vince...although I've never met the guy. Vince that is....

GOBLIN GIRL..."She's a Goblin' Girl and she can gobble it all
She's a goblin, a Goblin' Girl
She's a goblin, a Goblin' Girl"

Actually, I never really realized how crude the lyrics are from most of his songs. And I used to play many of them on the community radio in a little community on the shores of Hudson's Bay. No wonder the church crowd got pissed off.
Some of his stuff was tame enough for parents (and even church groups)

Like the story of him and his pygmy pony named, "Mighty Little", moving to Montana to raise bees for their wax to use on his crop of Dentil Floss:

You didn't even have to inhale to get a little weird listening to his stuff, but trying to play his music was interesting (and challenging!), to say the least.

"Canary Yellow Car" by Todd Van Zant
Geez....this just keeps me thinkin'....

For Vince:

"Take this job and shove it" by Johnny Paycheck
or "Working Man's Blues" by Merle Haggard

And for Terri:

"Good hearted Woman" by Merle Haggard

then there's a bunch of car-related songs:

"Hot Rod Heart" by John Fogerty

"Thunder Road" by Robert Mitchum

"Baby you can drive my car" by the Beatles

"Route 66" by the STONES

"49 Mercury Blues" by Brian Setzer

and then, those that just plain rock:

"It came from Memphis" by Rosie Flores

"Jailhouse Rock" by the Blues Brothers
or "Sweet Home, Chicago"

"She's too good for me" or "Shadows in the rain" by Sting

or later in the evening, after a few Obans, "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen

"Running down a dream" by Petty and Heartbreakers

"59 Tweedle Dee by Rosie Flores

"Roadhouse Blues" by the Doors

"Only the good die young" by Billy Joel

"Give it up or let me go" by Bonnie Raitt

And for all you'se "Left Coasters":

"The 101" by Lorraine Feather

That's it for now - gotta go crank up the IPOD!
