I have to say... yes all you know I have had some sorting issues on my new VS and yes a lot have had to be settled on my time here in Fl, but VS has done a great job in getting me any part needed. they sent me the sway and camber comp at no charge and when I told them they sent the wrong bushings, a new pair show up a couple days later. As well, my stripped rotor - no questions asked, new one showed up a couple days later. Brake lines that leaked, they sent me new ones...both front and back and only needed back. pins for the door handle, etc etc. yes it was new. Yes it should have been sorted. they are standing by their warranty and for that I am pleased. Work done on the car...submitted receipts and had a check a couple days later. My car is 99 percent sorted. I couldn't be happier...

Excellent! The main thing is you're enjoying driving that bad-ass Speedster and passersby are jealous a hell!
i had a similar experience and also found kirk really easy to deal with about the warranty and eager to make things right. these cars definitely take some time to sort though. i am almost a year into mine and i am only recently sure that the car is reliable.
I am glad you are sorted. now that I am, and in the state of my economy, I am actually considering seeing if there are any buyers out there. Don't want to but coming up soon, might be forced to. Meantime, I am enjoying every cruise I get in it!
"some sorting issues" were resolved... and now you couldn't be happier???
Come on Todd!
You basically paid good money to Kirk for what turned up to be a rolling chassis of haphazard slammed together shht... that had all of 12 'conscientious' sorting miles on the odometer when delivered!
And then he sends the wrong replacement parts?.. That's adding insult to injury...even if he does pick up the tab for what should have been caught (sorted) in the first place.
I'm surprised your sanity isn't affected.
They call this the madness for a reason! I am happy that the parts came to get it sorted its been long enough and am proud now of the car. It now is everything I was hoping it would be! I put the sorting miles on it and know every inch of this car now. A little piece of me feels I helped build it and that makes me smile...much more so than my first vs, I have learned so much this time around. The warranty on the car has worked and this car is now fantastic!
kirk doesn't like to put a lot of miles on the cars. i dunno why.
how many miles does your car have now, todd?
1,400. He is referring to the fact that I asked to have no less than 50 but wanted at least 200 before it shipped to me in Florida... It came with a whole 12 on it...lol
Yea?
Well it's a shame that Kirk didn't put the 'sorting miles' on it... becoming familiar with 'every inch of it'... before he dumped in in your driveway.
does anyone remember how many miles were on my car when the engine died? i don't remember anymore.
@carl...you are more upset than me now! I dont disagree but not going to star that up again! It's all good. I love my car. A pic at last cars and coffee with a buddy of mines daughter at the wheel...
@annaliese. I don't remember the post but I know it wasn't many! All good now right?
The beast Rascon built. I love this pic...
600 miles the first time it died. that was in october. engine was rebuilt.
short of 2000 miles the second time it died. that was in february. engine was rebuilt and some performance and reliability oriented upgrades were made to the engine and to the suspension. sway bar added. brakes were supposed to be upgraded but i think kirk forgot and-- whatever. the car was REALLY, really fun when i got it back. i was delighted. i drove it around my neighborhood for like two hours just grinning.
around 2200 miles when the car died again. that was in april i think. it was the fuel pump.
i have a pretty friendly relationship with kirk's tow guy now. i really like that dude.
holyMy holy Shi$! again...glad they are keeping there word. I'd keep driving it until warranty is up. Your sorting issues should be just about done!
as far as i am concerned that warranty restarted itself at day one every time the engine was altered in anyway and i believe that kirk agrees with me. these cars might not always come perfectly sorted but he does stick by his cars and see them through the sorting process.
further, he fixed my door handle for free when a valet snapped it off (the door handle was sticking which is probably why someone ****ed with it enough to break it but i imagine that other car builders/mechanics might have tried to argue that the break wasn't their fault and i could have made the hotel pay for it but kirk was happy to fix it for me) and someone reversed into me one day causing some damage to the paint on the front end of my car and he had it fixed immaculately at no cost to me. kirk can be forgetful, he can be somewhat hard to communicate with sometimes, he is a little bit relaxed for my taste but he is very, very honest and stands by his cars and his guarantee on them goes above and beyond. also, my car is really really pretty.
when/if i ever sell this car the person who buys it will be very happy with it.
