Hey all,

Looking for any vendor or information to buy a Speedster hood protection. Today with the square design of the front I get to many chips from stones and bugs on my car and like to use a leather or vinyl cover to save my paint. I looked at some vintage photo's and seen that this was a popular accessory to race a speedster in the late 50's. Maybe any one of you already came accross this or can point me at some pictures or designs for building myself.

Appreciate the help

Jurgen,

Purely speculation as my car is a week out from delivery; but I am using a custom bra for my drive to work and back, off in the evenings and for joy rides. Chips may add character, but cracks in the fiberglass are more costly to repair than a buff job on the nose section, or at worst, a re-painting.

Unfortunately, in L.A. most over-sized SUV don't bother with mud flaps so the rocks do fly.

If this theory falls short, I will re-post will humble apologies.

Mike,

Actually you are correct, once the fiber gets damaged only an expensive bodyjob is waiting. In Europe we don't have to many SUV trucks on the road but a lot of crazy truckdrivers. Also, European law allows for higher speeds on the highway. So a good bra for those roads to protect your car is, for me, a good investment.

I already started to design one so will keep you posted on this excercise. I really like to have a vintage look for the bra and not these black plastic folies that probably do more damage to the paint anyway.
