does Vintage motorcars have a website??
Great to have you back in the game, Alex! I'm sure it won't take long for you to build a loyal customer base once the word gets out about your mad skills in building & maintaining replica 356s & 550s!
I googled Vintage Motorcars and came up with Vintage Spyder at 7582 Industrial Way # B, Stanton, CA 90680 is this the same?
Yes, but no website run by the Co. ALex, when are you gonna set up a field office on the east coast?
Yes, we have a website. www.vintagemotorcarsinc.com. Also, the company use to be called Vintage Spyders (www.vintagespyders.com).
The full address is:
Vintage Motorcars
7562 Industrial Way, Stanton, CA 90680
Jim, is that the same Speedster with a fresh paint job or did you get another one? Looks really nice from the avatar.
El Frazoo, We are actually in communication with a club on the east coast that maintains very high end car club about doing some sales and service on the Spyders and Speedsters, the tough part is we have years of experience dedicated to these cars and know all the ins and outs of them and that experience is hart to transfer. If we open a location in East Coast we want to make sure it will be to the standard of what we do here.
I must say, I'm pretty excited to be back in the game. I missed making these cars the best that they can be. Its such a great feeling of accomplishment when I work on a car and the customer says, "I never knew the car could drive this good".
Where were you working prior to this?
Hey what happened to the sale of Vintage Speedsters??
Hi Troy,
I meet you when I was working at Fibersteel and at a few of the Morro Bay trips. After there I worked at Rascon Motorsports, then at DPR Machine shop. I've been in the VW world for about 20 some years now.
Art, Vintage Speedsters is in Hawaiian Gardens and still in business. Not the same as Vintage Spyders that is now Vintage Motorcars.
Thanks Alex, I understand that. There was talk months back about an ownership change at Vintage Speedsters.
Art
The Vintage Speedsters sale never materialized.
Vintage this and Vintage that -- very confusing. Enter Vintage Speedsters in Google and you get all sorts of businesses all over the country. We need some clever new naming here so not so confusing. And what is so "vintage" about a FG VW based car built in 2016?? Just sayin' . . .
As to the east coast connection, I hope that pans out, and I appreciate how hard it would be. What is the customer base? Surely not near so many as in SoCali.
Best of luck going forward. Aside from the name confusion, I believe you will be very successful.
Alex - my previous Speedster was involved in a crash as we were leading a group of SOCers up PCH (Malibu) to the annual West Coast SOC Cruise (San Luis Obispo).
With the insurance settlement, I had Kirk at Vintage Speedsters build my current VS...
Hopefully I can catch up with you & Derek one of these days! Take care my brutha!

ALEX BOUGHT BILLY BLAIRS CAR
....and that sh*t just didn't quite buff out ~
Actually Derek bought Billy's car, I just changed it all up. Added all the suspension upgrades, stiffened the pan and body, and all the cosmetic goodies. He just sold that car and he is now thinking of having me build one from the ground up.
MUSBJIM: That awful picture on the PCH always makes me upset. We all have such a thing nagging in the backs of our minds, I guess. Looks so terrible, but you guys walked away. So glad it was not worse. And then look how it all ended up: What a sweet, sweet ride you have now, so much more guapo than what came before.
Rave on!!
Alex...and Greg.
Thank you. Had 1999 and 2003 Vintage Spyders. So glad to see Greg Leach's hard work finally pay off. Hopefully he can enjoy the oats he has sewn. Knew Greg back in the day. Great guy then and still is. Hope to do more business with Vintage "Motorcars" in the future. Love the new developments from Seduction. Can't wait to see the finished Pre-A 356. Good on you Greg.
I will echo your sentiments, Phil. Greg has been in the biz about 30 years now. Still LOVE my Vintage Spyder, 2002 "VINTAGE"!
Alex, were you building motors with Roland and supplied them to Kirk back in 2013? If so, I would like to PM you some questions you may answer for me. Thank you, Michael
Just had some work done with Alex (various front end, suspension, tune & assorted work) and have to say he's great - car's running tip-top. Would recommend him and Greg's shop to anyone.
