I talked to Kirk today. The deal is not final yet as like most deals like this the is probably a letter of intent with details to be worked out. Kirk said he will be around for quite a while during the transition period. I am sure the knowledge transfer process will be long. it is not like there is a lot of written information on the "how to" part of this business.

I would find it highly unlikely the new owners would move the operations. I bought my car from Kirk at the bottom of the recession when he was building inventory due to slow sales. The skill level of his workers is such that it is not easily transferred. The only benefit from moving would be if you built an entirely new manufacturing facility to increase production and reduce costs. That of course would require significant capital and the ability to maintain production, bring on and train new workers, etc. I doubt the size of the market for these cars could ever justify that kind of expenditure.
