Check out this vintage speedster on Ebay - Guy says previous owner kept it at the beach outside - Amazing what the salt air will do a car....  Built in 2007 by vintage - really rough looking - I could live with exterior patina (maybe) but the interior really looks to have take alot of water damage from rain I presume.

Almost makes you wonder if it spent some time under water, doesn't it?  I say this because I live in a humid coastal area and my car stays less than 8 miles from the beach, and I have no visible rust.  Notice that there is a picture in the ebay ad that shows what appears to be a lot of sand caked around the "frunk" seal.  Not sure how else it would get there.

I think he parked it on the beach at low tide!  Geeze even the horn button is rusty.  And the aluminum dulled by salt.  $6k max and it be fun driver to replace chrome bits.

Hi everyone I am the seller! I'm a noob to this site but I have the same user name on Pelican and the Early S Registry. I will have the car on a lift Monday for all to see undercarriage. I spoke this morning to drclock about the car, it runs really well but not so much on stopping, lol. I would love to keep this. car but I am in the final phase of completing my backdated 911 RSR hot rod and have no spare time for this car.

as to the sand more recently we had a huge storm here with unbekiveBle winds and they deposited a whole bunch of sand in this cars interior

Nice backdate project!

How do you like the Braid wheels?  I've been looking at those.

I like the Braid BZ-Classic wheel.

16x6 with a 35mm offset (13.2 pounds) and it can be ordered with a RSR finish.

VERY NICE

Bob, would you go with the 6" in the front and 7" in the rear?

When Teby, Anand, and I were hanging out with Dr. Sloan we were discussing this car and I don't think any of us would have paid over $5K for that car due to the extensive amount of work it needed. New chrome pieces, possibly a new wiring harness, extensive engine work, body resurrection, new interior, and the unknown potential of a rusted out chassis were too much for us.

Maybe the bidder missed the part about it being a replica.

I am not knocking this speedster but putting things into perspective ......                          All door, hood , deck lid latches, handles, gauges. All wiring and switches, all lighting, all trim, anything that is metal will have issues. Entire brake system too. Then even though it happens to run, there surely are Gremlins and unknowns within the engine bay ....I think the heavy steel items could be wire wheeled and painted.    The top snaps are rusted and that will have stained the material and the carpet bad.... Perhaps the paint can be brought back but I wouldn't bet on it.  Assuming that the aluminum wheels and windshield frame can be fine sanded and polished. A minimal investment of over $5000 plus the buyers time IF....... he is lucky enough to be able to do all the work without labor costs. A Lot Of Work ...and even I would pass on this one. 'Drclock'

A friend bought the car from me and he took off all chrome trim yesterday, he will be removing bumpers and windscreen today. Also drop motor/trans today and buy new 4 wheel disc kit with new lines, hardware, rotors, calipers, spindles. Carpet got vacumed and actually looks nice, no mildew. Replacing all snaps and associated hardware on top and tonneau covers. Just under 2K for the above, not including cosmetic refreshing of engine and trans.

Do any of you know someone to widen the Porsche 5x130 KPZ steel wheels?
