While on a trip to see my son at VMI my right seater and I stayed at a B&B in Waynesboro, VA it's all of two blocks long a small town off the end of Skyline Drive.  When we went though the town I stumbled on this cool place G&W Motorwerkes,Ltd.  It's a vintage Porsche showroom/garage for restoration and sales. It was so so cool to see all these cars.  Hope no one minds that I'm posting on it.  We drove Skyline from Front Royal to Waynesboro 107 miles not in my Speedster though.

I now know these guys have been around for a long while and are fairly well known.

I met the owner and asked if I could take the pic's and he also showed me the ones in storage and under restoration.  It was very cool to see and I will drive there again next time with the Speedster.  They also had some pretty cool vintage Porsche stuff in their parts shop on display.

BTW I loved the Bug Eye too!

Also, what are the different looking horn grilles and reverse lights on the bumper?

The 356 motor used a VW 36hp style fan shroud; look at the carb linkage coming from the front side. There are mounts for the linkage crossbar right on the shroud. And I'm curious about the air boxes that sit down around the carbs as well. I'd never seen those before. Anybody shed some light on those? Maybe to ensure the carbs get only fresh, cooler air? We're used to the equipment on the 356A's- that's a later (B? C?) car and it looks to me that the horn grilles aren't installed. Al

They are all real as far as I know.  The GT Sliver Coupe is/was set up for racing and has a roll cage inside it's very cool much better than the crappy pic's I took.  Here's a few more pic's.

I also really loved the 914's as I had a 1970 in 1975-1980 when the battery was dripping acid over the years unknown to me and the weak suspension structure below it then failed.
