For me, it's interesting to see what the first swipe at what are now our Speedsters looked like. I'm very glad that they recognized that it needed some work and that they continued to refine the concept. If it had stayed the same, I wouldn't own one now.
True, the Speedsters beat it in the looks department, but the 356/1 was mid-engined, which is a definitely better balanced design.
I personally think this car is very cool. A replica of a one off. And mid engine handling. I believe that Seduction can build this car. But it is very pricey.
IF you could bet this for $35k could be a very good deal. I would like to see engine accessibility.
What Troy said X2.
That is butt ugly (historical, yes, but still ugly).
I love the shape of it and the front chrome strips give it a kind of Art Deco feel, but that windshield............
Stick a Speedster windshield on it and it could look quite amazing in an Outlaw, sacreligiously ignoring History kind of way.
I think he was trying to get a smiley face on that car
As always...beauty is still in the eye of the beholder. This appears to be a very good replica of the historic mark. For some it is not your cup of tea and for the historicly correct ones she is a beauty! Not sure however that is going to fetch the asking price but it will be interesting to see the outcome.
I've seen one of these in Monterey at the Porsche / Mercedes / BMW show a few years back during Pebble Beach. Someone was building these on order for about the same money as the one for sale. Looked darn good in person. I liked the split windshield!

Not made by seduction. I stand corrected. But the car is seen on Seductions website on the same page as a Seduction Spyder article from a kit car magazine, I'm sure Vintage Replicar is now defunked. But here is the youtube add for the car. The engine is actually very accessible. Much more than our cars. Being an old Spyder guy I still think its pretty cool.
Looks like it was unplugged and stolen from in front of a local K Mart !
Client of ours has one of these he cannot sell.... same color combo. Located in Duabi, would probably even throw in free shipping and sell it for less than Park Place. Beverly Hills Motorcars bought the mold for this and will be building these.
Personally... I highly recommend chassis strengthening and more body bonding... the chassis layout on those Type 1 replicas is poorly done. Not trying to start anything on here... just looking out for whomever purchases this.
I'll probably run into Butch from Park Place LTD at Barrett-Jackson tomorrow in Scottsdale. Vintage Replicar sold everything they own to Beverly Hills Motorcars.
There was a guy in the middle of the Custom Coachwerks debacle from Dubai who bought one of these and couldn't get it through their inspection and licensing process.
Gotta be the same guy. He was trying to put together a dealership for replicas over there. Guess his clientele were guys with less than a half dozen oil wells. More than that they are buying Lambo's.
Not sure I'd want one but I like the Hollywood look of it. Love the back. Thunder Ranch does/did these.

I always thought that guy had a screw or two loose.
