"Vintage Speed" Exhaust Systems

Hello, New to this forum. Did a search on these systems and found one topic where the 2 tip V.S. System didn't clear the body. Did not find much else. V.S. is offering the single tip Spyder Style now.
Anyone tried this system? Not sure of my customers brand of replica, but he is running bumpers so we want to make sure the tip will clear and not soot up the bumper. Looking for pictures if there are any available. Any help would be great, Thanks, ACO (Air Cooleds Only)

That was most likely my post. No stock exhaust will clear the rear apron of my speedster. The car is a Thunder Ranch. If a stock type system will fit with no problem, the Vintage Speed exhaust will fit.

Chris---I used the Vintage muffler on my drive to Morro Bay and back to Hot Springs. It lost 2-3 baffles from failed welds on the way over and drove me crazy with the noise. I emailed the guy in Taiwan and he replaced it for me---no questions asked. He also customized it, making the tailpipes 2-3" longer to get the exhaust outside the car.

But I didn't like the way it hung down under the car with that huge large round barell deal so I changed it out for an A-i Sidewinder which looks and sounds better (to me.)

The customer service from Taiwan made me feel guilty when I switched to the A-1 but I did post a rave review on teir wonderful customer service.

Chris - for the sake of a visual reference, here is the A-1 Performance Sidewinder on my Vintage Speedster. It can be fabricated as a single outlet (pictured) or a dual exhaust. I have since added a chrome tip purchased at Pep Boys (or most any auto parts store).

Read this thread and then call Roland Rascon, his number is in the thread. He can build you a very nice, single or dual tip header, for about half the price of the A1 Sidewinder and it doesn't hang down nearly as far or require taking off the muffler to adjust the valves.

Jack - due to circumstances beyond my control I won't be able to make it this year. I am so BUMMED out to miss Carlisle because it only gets better each year and this one has all the makings of being the best one yet!!

I will also be missing out on joining Dave Mitchell on his excellent adventure to Carlisle, PA and back!

I have an RSVP from David Stroud driving from California but not from David Mitchell. Do you know if they are both driving to Carlisle from the left coast? (Sorry for the thread hijack).

TP - those are stock VW heater boxes. I had the exhaust tube 'flanged' so that I could have a 'bolt-up' connection rather than the old 'slip-clamp' connection.

ECB - I'm pretty sure Dave Mitchell is still planning on going to Carlisle. Hopefully he'll chime in about this.
