I've seen photos where it looks like it hangs pretty low. Clearance on my 2015 VS replica (and most others, too) is already minimal. Any experience with these systems? Comments about fit, finish, and sound wound also be appreciated.

My car came with an Empi 4 tip setup that was always scraping on the ground. I went with a Vintage Speed set up for lowered buses. The muffler & headers sit almost level with the crankcase so ground clearance is pretty good. There are some pretty good pictures on the vw parts air-cooled site, under exhaust, kit car. This set up doesn't scrape and my car is lowered. May work on yours, good luck.

I've got one of these on my old pan based IM. Very nice workmanship. Fit works with mine (1776). It's a nice looking system and since I run a wide-band O2 sensor, the built in bungs are very convenient. It sounds sporty but not obnoxious. I replaced a Tri-Mil muffler with the VS-TW exhaust and my wife was very happy. We can have conversations while cruising and you can hear the radio if you want to. I've never scraped anything with it.

My VS is a little low in the back; see attached photos. With mine you have to be careful on steep slopes and speed bumps. The tips of the muffler as well as the bottom part of the muffler can scrape fairly easily. I believe not much different than a real Speedster with sport muffler. Regarding the sound it is fairly quiet, almost stock sounding as compared to my old Tri-Mil for example, which sounded fairly throaty. The build quality is very good and the bungs for the sensors are very convenient. Being stainless steel it will discolor with the heat. I bought it at www.aircooled.net and I got a percentage discount after liking Aircooled.net’s Facebook page. It was great because for all practical purposes the shipping was free. Aircooled.net is one of their dealers and I got it directly from Vintage Speed in Taiwan and it took about a couple of weeks to get it all the way to Puerto Rico; where the car was at the time. It was a great deal.
