Vintage speed short shifter!!!!

Hey guys & gals,I just installed the "vintagespeed" 13.5" short shfter and it is absolutely wonderful. Reduced shift throws,and is very precise feelng compared to the stock one,not to mention it is long/skinny and looks more "period" on our speedsters than the short stubby one. It is very cool,I will post pics soon.

Cool! Did we already say "Welcome To The Madness"? Well there ya go!!! Every bit of modification we do to our Speedies, small or large, just makes it that much more fun.

Giday, Thomas. I'm thinking of going to a Banjo style wheel just because I go for the authentic look and I know my short shifter ( was it a SCAT product ? ) with the reverse lockout ring won't cut it either. What does your shifter need to get things into reverse ? And just for giggles....we've now done 17,160 miles since buying the car last September. I'm starting to feel like Hank Snow....

does it look like this..Nuckles and i each have one and had it cut down 3 " and rethreaded as it was too tall. excellent product. To get into reverse u pull up and not push down.

My VintageSpeed shifter is modified for a 5-speed.
It's so close and tight you'd swear it's an automatic.
Love it.

Is that black rectangle box under the star next to the air vent your cup holder? How did you attach to the side?

Yep, that's my super-not-expensive cup holder.
I drilled a couple pilot holes through the fiberglass and then attached it with a couple sheetrock screws.

I will post pics soon,I left mine the 13.5" height,and it looks super vintage-style that way and is easy to use at that height.

Hey Thomas, it looks like you're having fun with my car. I miss it. I want it back. Probably not going to happen. I guess I'll just have to build another one. So, get us some pictures of that shifter.

Yes Warren,it has been a great little project so far. I got the front end issues sorted out,repiared the passenger side top latch,changed oil,adjusted valves/re-shimmed rockers,installed new fuel pump.......the list never ends......new engine coming next.
Luckily I "enjoy" this kind of stuff! lol Aloha,and no,you can't have your car back! ;)
