Vintage Speedsters 356 Porsche ReplicaSilver with black Interior. This extremely solid, well detailed example was factory built by Vintage Speedsters in Hawaiian Gardens, California. The car was built for a customer who was particularly specific with what she wanted the car to represent, and it was created to be as authentic as possible. No expense was spared. The engine is a 1600 cc, twin carburetor with velocity stack. With its Abarth style exhaust, this car sounds as a Porsche speedster would. The car is equipped with front disc brakes, and camber compensator on the rear. Current mileage showing is 6,000. From the 550 style steering wheel, original Porsche style VDO gauges, racing style seat belts and distinctive Porsche style carpet throughout, the driver?s cockpit has a great feel to it. The front luggage compartment is properly carpeted and very clean, and there is a luggage rack on the rear of the car, which includes the correct leather straps. The badging, including the Reutter `Custom Coachwork` tag, is correct throughout. This car is titled in California as a 1971 Volkswagen using the motor number. Recent sales for Vintage Speedsters at auctions have ranged from $24,500 to $34,500. This car is an exceptionally correct example and will be represents excellent value at my asking price of $23,000. Please call Jeff Lassiter at 714-309-4004.

Hello Jeff, and welcome.. I do not beleive you are here to join in on all the fun you can have by owning such a special car, yet you are here to sell it, and that is fine as well. However you must be sure you know and understand your market my friend. The majority of folks here are aware of the great car that Kirk builds at VS and in fact most of us have owned one or two of them. Most have meant both Kirk and his lovely wife too. I think you really need to understand that we know what a Turn-Key runs for NEW even with the upgrades, yet posting one here that states some have sold at auctions for 34K could almost be insulting. we all know that there are fools born every minute, but do not assume they are posting here my friend. Your car sounds very sweet, but you'll have to get that price somewhere else like ebay or the monthly car mags ads. The guys here know SOOO much about this type of car it'll make your head spin! :-) So good luck in your quest.

Speedster "D"
Reg, prices will vary from season to season. I bought my car as a complete heap that started when you turned the key for $16K a few years ago. It deteriorated because of my concerned neglect policy for about a year, and then I really took after it and went crazy with minutia.
The cars seem to cost more in the spring. There's a sinus rythm from spring as a high, summer as a seller's market on the decline into fall where the seller may have to dump and on into winter, when unsold cars hibernate until it's spring again.
Here, for the past few months, cars have been going for roughly $12K to $19K, from one member to another. The better cars will command more money.
If the builder had more money than sense, you might catch a really good deal. If the builder poured his or her heart and soul into the car, you're going to either meet what that person wants or they're going to keep it for another round of four seasons.
Hope that helps.

Pertinent to the HIJACK -- Is your car RHD, Vince? Otherwise, I'd think it impossible for you to steer!
Jeff,
I might be interested too if you can give us a little more info. and as the last poster said, you're willing to come down in price. For what you're asking I'd just as likely order one up brand new from JPMS. Can you post some pics, interior and exterior please. Also, what year was this car built?
Thanks.
