I have a Vintage Speedster that was built in 2000. I am the 2nd owner and had it alittle over a year.  While I've done allot to maintain it mechanically, I never thought to check the attachment points between the body and chassis.

Given what I've found on other parts of the car I wouldn't be a bit surprised if some of these attachment points are loose.

I don't have any type of owners manual for the car. Can somebody please give me a rough idea where I should be looking and how many points of attachment there are.

Thanks. Grant

There are usually two bolts in each outboard corners at the bulkhead just forward of your feet in the cockpit, two more at the outboard corners just ahead of the rear wheels, then about 16 (8 on each side) in a channel along the edge of the body and underneath.

Except in the corners, these are NOT big bolts - like 8mm or 1/4"-5/16" - and shouldn't take a lot of torque, like 40 ft. Lbs. or so, to make them tight.  If you tighten them too much they may pull the fastener out of the fiberglass body, making them useless.

The corner bolts go right through with a conventional nut on the end and can be torqued higher, but 50-60 ft. Lbs is all they should need.
