Vintage Speedster build identification | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

My speester is a Vintage Speedsters build. I couldn't get more specifics about the build from the PO. However, I wanted to share a bit of info in case anyone else is trying to identify a VS build. There was another similar car to mine posted on BAT. One point that called the VS build into question was the lack of a vent hole in the engine bay that VS models typically have. Both the car in this listing and my own do not have the engine bay vent hole but do have the other characteristics of VS builds, such as the leather on the dash surface not stretching to the edges.

Agree, the firewall vent hole was not on all. Maybe just used on certain displacements? The curly red alternator wire is the same tell-tail that is not on all. VS also had their own hood handle emblem that you rarely see.

Then there are the roller models they sold where the owner builder does as they want.
