Lane---driven---damned right! I have put 6,500 miles on my VS since July, '07 without any trouble. I want to drive it to Morrow Bay next year and am looking for a couple of other crazies to caravan with.

I have had as much fun working on this car as driving it and it certainly was (I hope WAS) a work in progress. In about the last month here's what I've done:

1. Installed the missing turn signal cancellation ring--now the turn signals cancel. (I thought I had manual turn signals!)
2. Removed the dead Viper alarm system
3. Replaced the radio that was shorting internally and drawing my battery down
4. Added Marchal Fog lights
5. Had it color sanded and buffed
6. New wheels and tires (round wheels-what a concept!)
7. Added rear reflectors
8. Aligned the front end--major deal for me.
9. Won 2nd place in a car show--not car work but nice event.

So who wants to plan Morrow bay for next year?

Back to the thread about bargain Speedsters.---Jack
Three trips to the Adirondacks, Lake Placid area, A trip over SkyLine Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, to many shows and trophies to count, 22 years on the road and not sure how many miles. Yea Lane your right, these cars are meant to be driven. I have driven in rain, snow, the blazing sun, Rain never bothered me that much, except the cleanup and dry time. I think the toughest ride was one of my trips to the Adirondacks in at least 90 deg hot blazing sun. I was cooked after that ride.
I was hatched in Bridgeport, CT. My Dad was an engineer for GE and after WWII whatever he was doing wan't necessary anymore. He and a group of his associates, referred to as the "Connecticut Yankees", were transferred to Electronics Park in Syracuse, NY. That's the area where I grew up. I discovered Buffalo Head Inn while living in Oneida Castle.
