Interesting way to mount the air cleaner.   When mounted on the carb did the air cleaner hit the engine hood?

That's the way it came straight from VS...  My last one was a dual carb; this one actually feels smoother / breathes easier

What Bill said.  A straight, low mileage VS at a realistic price.  Fine looking Speedster.

A positive note regarding a smaller motor.... you get in and drive w/o cooling issues and a long, motor life

Last one was 1915cc with twin carbs, wanted simple reliability this time...  Also how do I post more pics?  I have the build sheet for thing I forgot about like Spyder seats, disc fronts etc...

There's yet another glass fuel filter perched right above/next the dizzy and the electric carb solenoid ...A fire waiting to happen ~

You may want to relocate that fuel filter if you don't sell your vehicle.

Thanks guys for the input; had some friends that are car nuts (60 plus car collection, private collection mechanics, race at televised races) take a look when I first got it.  They added it, I asked about the potential for leaks; my understanding (as they dumbed it down for me) is that it has a metal, "Teflon" on metal connection in the threads and then the threads are sealed with high temp "adhesive".  These are guys who hoon around in toys that cost more that I make in a life time...  I trust their mechanics. 

Also to be safe / because I'm anal retentive every 1k I have the car inspected by a local, long standing vw mechanic(s).  I also switch them out at each cycle so each sees it every 2000 miles ie  fresh eyes every 1k miles.  This kept my last one bullet proof; at a very menial cost.  It's one of the things they check...

I take my oldest for low speed joy rides, not willing to ever risk it.

That's a pretty nice car for $19000.  Was.  Sure the reserve is now higher than that.

Gregg start the bidding. We know $19K was the magic number...

Would have easily sold here to a fellow SOCer had he just named his price!  I actually checked map to find I was only 8 hours away from him - I would have jumped on it.  Love the different color combo.  

I'm actually a little ticked.  Wanted 21, was kind and met at 19.  Complained about peppering so I refunded 500 because I don't want any bad will associated with my name.  Found out he was a dealer after I verbally agreed to sale; but was told he's keeping it as his personal car.... Shame on me I guess...

Freeking dealers!...had my share of dealing with them when selling a car or two on e-bay. They bid it up to get it then have the gall to complain about nit-picky things they find with the car expecting you to drop the price even lower... finally learned the 'reserve price is the selling price, period'...'you don't like the price tough, 'cuz you just bought it, I'm not dropping it another penny, take it or leave it.

Yup because in a heart beat or less a Dealer would say: "Hey Sorry Pal" AS IS you know" and that would be that.

It's on me... I figured out he was a dealer after I agreed to a price and took down the sites... I followed through and should have stuck to my price / as is where is but as I said its on me... Figure karma will balance out at some point.

I would like to say for the record the forum members have been awesome !!!! Jealous of all you guys and your speedsters now that I don't have one ;-)
