I was wondering if anyone has purchased a vintage speedster since the takeover from Kirk?
Anyone have advice or feedback on the experience? I’m in talks with a few makers but my friend is recommending VS.
Thanks SOC

@Speedster heed the advice that Alan Merklin (Dr. Clock) gives you regarding your questions. Alan has refurbished 50 of these cars and they have all turned out top-notch so he knows of what he speaks. Best of luck in your Speedster endeavor! @Alan Merklin

There is a guy named Danny who has one on order from Vintage Arizona. You could always contact him about his experience to date. @Newbie Danny

I did. Am planning to do a proper writeup about my visit and purchase but frankly having too much fun to take pictures etc. I will say for now that I found Justin to be a guy I could deal with who seems to have a great deal of honesty and integrity unlike my fiasco with JPS. I would never recommend doing business there.
Justin's operation is VERY clean and organized in a new airplane hanger/airport setting. I saw construction of many cars in various stages of completion. His offerings were reasonable but I came away with a very special car from a private collection. Driveline wise it has everything I could want and imagine a 2332cc that doesn't leak, overheat, and runs like a scalded ape. I am nearing my 3rd oil change and making it even better every week. But mine is in the upper range and there are compromises that are much less and probably just as much fun. Consider a trip or ask away.
Best of luck.
I have found Justin and crew @Vintage Speedsters to be great to work with (now an approximately one year relationship) culminating with the delivery of my new build.
Justin is accessible, honest, a good listener not looking to ‘upsell’, and very knowledgeable. Mostly, he is an enthusiast like us who wants to “get it right”, and is extremely motivated to do so on behalf his customers.
Anyone who may want more specific info may PM me and I’d be happy to describe my experience in more detail!
I ordered a 1957 speedster from Justin In Arizona last August. He has recently sent me updated photos of my car being built..should arrive in Mid November..Justin has been very receptive to all of my questions and replies in timely manner..so far so good. Can't wait for it to arrive..Danny
Very nice color combo. !!
I've bought parts here and there from Justin and I've always found him very attentive to my orders, no matter how insignificant they must be. I'd love to visit the shop one day.

Thanks Troy, my friend only owned it for a few years and said SOC was a good source - but he was only a spectator and said he didn’t really post.
Everyone thanks for the feedback, very helpful! I love this SOC community, appreciate your time!
