VINTAGE SPEEDSTER LIGHT AND WIPER KNOBS

HI:

What is the thread size for the white factory light and wiper control knobs on a vintage Speedster? I'd like to replace them with higher quality knobs; does anyone have sugestions?

They're the same as for old VW's.

I think it's 4mm, and Kirk at Vintage Speedster will mail you a pair for about $2 each. I know, I just got mine in the mail yesterday.

I tapped the threads to mate with Kitchen Cabinet knops I purchased at

How about the knobs for the rear deck release. I've lost mine and almost lost the rod inside the body. I'm temporarily holding it in place with a vice grips while its' resting this winter.

Does the cable screw in place?
