I'm going to VS on 8/27 to check out the progress on my car.  It was painted last week and I wanted to be there when they color sanded and buffed it to make sure it was really nice.  I also wanted to look at the chassis.  All the VS cars I've seen in photos looked darn near perfect but I've never seen one up close only in photos so I figure it can't hurt to be there.  Anyone else done this?  How did it go?   Thanks, Frank

PS:  I also want to score a Vasek Polak plate frame.

fpcopo - Welcome to the Madness of Speedster replica ownership! It never hurts to be able to visit where your car is being built. Looking forward to pics of you in your new ride!

BTW - Vasek Polak license frames go for $200-500 depending on condition. They show up at a lot of the VW/Porsche meets here in SoCal. Some can be had for $100, but more than likely are repops.

Bob you are right about Toms car.  It is very nicely optioned and the absolute cleanest car I looked at.  It turned out that building new was the best way to go for me as the engine I wanted would have put the price of Toms car almost as much as a new one.  Tom G, google the plate frames there are a lot out there but they are not cheap.  Frank

fpcopo- sorry I did not caught your posting before you came to Cal. My experience being just 20 miles for VS was very good. I was able to check all the phases out and make sure the paint was to my liking. BTW your PIC looks like the color is nonmetalic aquamarine?? Mine is that color and I decided to stay to the 57 period but upgrade to ft disk brakes and a mild street cam. Your first time behind the wheel will feel great.
