I ordered and payed for an exhaust system and carpet set over a month ago now. Initally Greg was prompt with returning my email and phone calls. I have made several attempts to contact him for an order status without any response now that he has my money. I am getting to the point of recouping my loss via small claims court. I was under the impression that Vintage was a reputable company but I'm having serious doubts now. I have also received a few inquires from other members regarding my purchases and unfortunatley had to steer them away from dealing with Vintage. Are there others out there that have also had issues with Vintage?

Hi Rick

I've had some frustrations myself but the good news is that while it may take a while, eventually everyone gets their orders.

I called Monday for my remaining parts and Jeanine was able to take care of me and then got Greg on the phone to answer some technical quesions related to my parts order.

Greg seems pretty busy and I've given up predicting when he is around but I think the trick is to call when Jeanine is in. She is supposed to be in again Thursday between 10Am and 2pm. If you miss her that day, I think she is always there Monday's 10-2 pst. Rather than waiting for a call back, your best bet is to call back again until someone answers I think.

Thanks for the encouragement Wayne. I'll try again tomorrow and hopefully talk to a live person to resolve these issues or at least get an estimate on the delivery time. The driving season is short here in NH and now is the time to be turning the wrenches. I'm envious of those in the warmer climates and hope to relocate eventually.
Rick, whatever happened?

I wish I had read this post before hand, but I made the same mistake and thought Vintage Spyders was a reputable company and didn't do this kind of thing. I to am thinking at this point that I'll have to go to court, but I'm thinking since it was interstate commmerce, and the sale was the result of internet communications and offerings, all just use the federal court.

I payed for rims from Greg (vintagespyders) that supposedly shipped 16 days ago. I have emailed him several times, and left phone messages, trying to get a tracking number or find out what happened.

Ever since the check cleared the bank, I can't get him to repsond to email or calls.

At this point, I just want an email, I'm too pissed off to talk, as I'm sure Greg is aware of, from my last two voicemails.

How hard is it, to simply give someone a trackng number, or admit you haven't even shipped them yet.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever any of you do DO NOT send ANY money to Greg at Vintage. It will only be stolen from you. He will never return your calls or send your money back after months and months of phone calls to just get a car. He is not a person that can be trusted. Buy any other make, just don't send him your money!!!

I ordered a car for a client April 13, 2005. The delivery time was end of July-first week of August 2005. We got nothing but stalls and lies until November 30, 2005 when a request for a refund of $10,000 was made. I then waited until February 5, 2006 and notified him the matter would be turned over to legal council. This did not phase him at all. Apparently this is his way of doing business.

I have plenty of time to give anyone the details of this horrible experience if you want to call me. Supporting documents can be sent if requested.

Unfortunatly, I have to say I am having the same problem with Greg at Vintage Spyders.
I ordered lites and bonnet straps on April 20 and still have not recieved them. Up untill my check cleared on April 30 Greg returned my calls. Now I get no response from emails or phone calls. I did reach him one time by phone at the end of may, and he said he would send the parts right out--still don't have them.
I see now he has parts listed for sale on the samba site too.
I have delt with Greg in the past and he was very professional, I don't know what is going on, but beware!

I finally got the exhaust system that cost me additional money to be modified to fit (2" off at the header flange)and recoated but still haven't received the carpet set. I have a trip to LA planned this fall and will be paying Vintage a visit to hopefully resolve this ongoing issue.
I just recieved the tail lights and front turn signals that I ordered from Vintage. They look great and were worth the wait. Greg said he was out of the other items I ordered, but should have them in a week and will send them out.

It appears that Greg is just really really busy, so hopefully everyone will eventually get their orders.

Just wanted you to know.

Hi Dan,
Yes I have a TR 550A, I bought it used and I am still working out some bugs. I should have it running again in a week or so. We should get together and carve some twisties, I am only a few minutes away in Howells. Your 550 looks great, I would really like to see it. My number is (845) 733-7787
Thanks
Eric
Greg came through at last. I gave him the option to substitute the carpets for some other items he had on hand. I was pleasantly suprised to receive a call back when there was a problem with the new order and he quickly resolved the issue at his expense. I sincerely believe he is back on track regarding the customer service issues and plan on doing business with him in the future. I still plan to visit his shop in Oct. and look foward to meeting him on good terms. Thanks Greg
