Vintage Spyder rear deck latch recievers

Where can I obtain the 2 receivers for the rear deck of my Vintage Spyder. Sliding mechanisms were damaged during assembly and adjustment at Vintage.

If you mean the two hood pins that latch the rear engine cover, they are standard old style Beetle hood pins. I got mine at a local dune buggy shop after unsuccessfully trying to describe to the 20 something clerk behind the computer at the VW dealer what I was looking for. If it wasn't on the computer schematic, it didn't exist to him. ;>) Same goes for the "receivers" into which the pins fit. Are you sure the sliders are in adjustment?

Like these? Mine were damaged due to maladjustment and I was able to remove and repair them. The red dots on the side view indicate the amount of deflection in the latch and the red arrows indicate the attachment points that broke loose. Two hours and eight cap screws later they were reparied, back in place and adjusted. That was two years ago...No problems since.

I believe the latches are one year only, maybe 1968
